West Village Penthouse

A very graphic approach was taken to this Penthouse gut renovation in Greenwich Lane by contrasting light-toned wood and striking natural veined stone with sharp blacks and whites. Throughout, windows made of glass and bronze provide streamlined, geometrical focal points and elevate the expansive views. Quarried stone flooring extends outside from each room that has access to the wraparound Terrace. The modern Kitchen features a stone-topped island with bleached and oxidized rift oak wood cabinetry and a textured backsplash to match the La Cornue range. We used highly structured and concealed supports in the Bathrooms to carry the weight of custom carved basins of quarried stone weighing hundreds of pounds. The show stopping Powder Room’s white Thassos marble and black stone sink under a delicate mirror exemplifies the sense of counterbalance. Throughout, textures differentiate the tones of black and white to bring depth to the sleek, clean lines of the furniture and furnishings.
