UES Triplex

An old mansion on the Upper East Side sits in the midst of iconic Rosario Candela buildings. Classical details were in mind but with a contemporary perspective. The most stunning feature is the staircase in a dizzying Candela style updated to a 21st century sensibility. Together with the applied plaster walls, the spirally formed bronze steps and balustrade create an eye-shaped sculpture that gazes up at a skylight, unifying each floor with this modern artistic statement. Cerused oak floors in a chevron pattern and artist-applied Venetian plaster walls are common throughout. The Kitchen is outfitted in patinaed stainless steel with stone countertops and bespoke detailing. All windows and doors were built in France by Horus Bronze. The Terrace is gracious and calming with spectacular views of the neighborhood’s historic architecture.
