Central Park West

Our clients purchased an apartment in a 1910 landmarked building on Central Park West with an eye to creating a home for the next phase of their lives and to serve as a private respite, a welcoming place for family and entertainment, and a haven for their books and art collection.

The layout, in estate condition, needed to capitalize on the park views seen through the oversized windows. The Kitchen was nestled in the back, so it was expanded into the next room and the Entry, Living, Dining, and Family rooms were linked to it with a series of enormous white oak pocket doors that open the Kitchen to the park views and can be hidden away for formal gatherings.

A white oak parquet floor ties the rooms together, detailed by muted hues and metallic accents. The adjacent Library is paneled in white oak with a standout feature – a custom bar with a brass ginkgo leaf pattern inlaid into a walnut accent wall. The detailed plaster ceiling continues from the Living Room to the Dining Room. The Kitchen backwall and countertops are Calacatta Macchia Vecchia stone slab. Throughout the home, a simple grace evokes the harmony our clients imagined.
